Position Title: Children’s Ministry Director/Directors
Supervised by: Associate Pastor
Principle Function:
The Children’s Ministry Director/Directors, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, and the supervision of the Associate Pastor, is responsible for developing, coordinating, and administering a ministry program for children grades 1-6.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct “Children’s Church” worship service for children grades 1-6 during church worship on Sunday mornings.
- Provide a “Kidz Minute” brief children’s message during the Sunday evening worship time.
- Coordinate and enlist people to help with Children’s Ministry services and events.
- Plan and conduct outreach/social events for children each quarter during the year.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct a Fall Festival children’s event on October 31.
- Plan for, conduct and/or provide a type of children’s camp/retreat, or major spiritual emphasis event once during the year.
- Work with the Children’s Ministry Committee in order to plan, coordinate, and conduct all aspects of the Children’s Ministry.
- Coordinate the Children’s Ministry program with the church calendar.
- Publicize events and information weekly in the church newsletter, etc.
- Attend church staff meetings.
- Provide an annual budget request to the Stewardship Committee.
- Help with Children’s Sunday School, missions groups, and Vacation Bible School when needed.
- Cooperate with the pastor and staff to maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude and spirit within all phases of the church’s ministry.
- Keep informed on methods, materials, principles, procedures, promotion, and administration which may be utilized in personal and professional development.
- Cooperate with pastor and staff to provide for contingencies otherwise not mentioned in job description.
